Whatever you do,
Proper Application of Ecolani Sunscreen
DO NOT RUB IT IN!
Rubbing sunscreen products quickly into the skin results in the rapid absorption of the lotion. SPF 15 sunscreen can quickly be reduced to the effectiveness of an SPF 3.
SPF 15 (sun protection factor) means that you can stay in the sun 15 times longer before you burn. This is not always true and depends on many factors including time of day, sweating, swimming, etc. ECOLANI is water resistant. In water we recommend hourly application.
To apply start with a small amount of sunscreen.
LAY sunscreen on your skin with a stroking motion. Wait 60 seconds before you gently smooth the lotion onto your skin. For the next 15 minutes the sunscreen will continue to blend in with your skin. If applied correctly you will not notice SPF 8 on your skin. SPF 15 should have a faint white color but not noticeable at a distance. SPF 25 will have a more noticeable coat. This means you have applied it correctly.
Apply a generous layer of sunscreen on sun-sensitive areas, such as the nose, forehead, ears, shoulders, upper chest, neck, and top of feet.
Be prepared! Make sure you have your complete ECOLANI system for every sun exposure. The BASIC SYSTEM for each person will include 2 different SPF's, Recovery Gel, and Rejuvenating Face and Body Lotion.
Protect Your Skin
While we do not recommend sunbathing on a regular basis, a light tan can be protective. Skin that isn't so sensitive can tolerate more exposure.
Sun Sensitive Skin: Use SPF 15 or 25 as a protector; those with a good base tan can use SPF 8.
Sun Tolerant Skin: Use SPF 15, SPF 8, SPF 4 or our Tanning Enhancer Oil - SPF 4 & 8 can be used over the oil.
SPF 15 will provide most people with adequate sun protection. Exceptions to this where an SPF 25 is needed include: prolonged exposure to extreme sun conditions or for highly sun sensitive skin
The key to the ECOLANI Skincare System is daily use of our
Rejuvenating Face and Body Lotion. With or without sun exposure, it heals and rehydrates the skin. Studies have shown that rose hip oil heals the basal skin layer. It keeps your skin moist, smooth and supple while maintaining a healthy tan. To apply, “gently smooth” over skin and let it soak in.
Myths about high SPF's - Chemical sunscreen's offer high SPF's at a cost – your health! Studies have shown that these chemicals are linked to cancer and hormone disruption.
It is always wise to apply sunscreen at regular intervals during periods of prolonged exposure.
